Our Story…

My name is Daina Funk and I am the Director of Rooted Counselling. I have practiced in Steinbach and Southeast Manitoba under Russell and Associates since 2006 when their Steinbach office opened. Don Russell of Russell and Associates has decided to focus on his Winnipeg Practice as of April 1st/2019. I have taken over the leadership of this fantastic team of counsellors who have been under his lead over the years.

I believe our team is a well rounded group of professional counselling therapists who have been serving this community beautifully and will continue to do so. We will miss Don and we are thankful for his leadership.

Rooted Counselling is a collection of independent mental health professionals. We each work independently while acknowledging the giftedness and theory of practice each of us work within. Our counsellors practice out of specific theories of change.

Each counsellor is able to modify treatment to meet the individual client(s) needs. If a counsellor does not have the expertise, the client is able to be referred within the office to find the right fit for each client and therapeutic relationship.
